“So, how did you get interested in acupuncture?” people often ask me. The truth is….I never really chose acupuncture so much as it chose me. I needed to be healed and it wasn’t going to happen with a quick trip to the doctor. It was not only acupuncture that helped but myriad people whom I encountered along my path to studying Eastern medicine. The autumn after graduating from college, with a degree in Biology, I found myself on a plane to Paris. The journey was not what I expected but in hindsight it was the only way for me to go.
And so begins the book I have written of the healing journey that has taken me to where I stand today. I hope in sharing it, others will find the courage to live their truth no matter how challenging because in the words of Elisabeth Leseur, “Many people live on the surface of their lives without ever penetrating their profound and sorrowful depths”. Unless we do the latter, there cannot be, ironically, any joy and real serenity.

In the meantime, follow your passion and do not be afraid to look within. You might be surprised at what you will find. I sure am!

Me too. Me too. I’d like to read more. I feel like I am living on that surface, but have no idea how to get under it. I don’t know if your book will help, but I am still curious.

Thank you, Ellen. I will most definitely keep you posted. Going beneath the surface takes work and commitment but is well worth the effort!
