O.K. This is the first time I have shared a recipe on my blog, but this is, in my opinion worth it and related, albeit circuitously, to acupuncture and lifestyle. Although it has some ingredients that people try to avoid eating too much of for health reasons, that was outweighed by the sheer joy it infused our family with when we had it for a treat last night.
Ingredients:
5 oz ripe avocado (about 1)
5oz. ripe bananas (about 11/2)
1T vanilla
2T cold, strong, black coffee
3T peanut butter
1/3 cup cocoa powder (dark)
2T maple syrup
Generous pinch of sea salt
Blend all ingredients in a large food processer until smooth.
Good topped with whipped cream and walnuts
Food for thought: Just like an acupuncturist can be not only a clinician but an artist in their field, so can the chef. This Gordon Ramsey Quick and Delicious recipe was made by my daughter in law, Kathleen, who has baked with her mother (a master) as she grew and continues to astonish us with her ability in the kitchen.
As far a lifestyle, a healthy diet is important but so is joy. We can balance the two by having an occasional treat or just enjoying food by enhancing how it is prepared and who we share it with.
And, by the way, this smooth dark chocolate mousse is a perfect Valentine’s Day dessert.
Happy V Day
